Megamind had, years ago, sort of vaguely explained Valentine’s Day to the bots as a day when you give gifts to people you care about and never really thought anything more of it.

Once he and Roxanne start dating and she’s spent so much time at the Lair and with the bots, and with 228 in particular, 228 approaches him all of their own initiative and requests assistance in choosing and purchasing a gift for Designation: Roxanne Ritchi.

I can SO see the brainbots doing Valentines day on their own!

Building Brainbots

We all talk about the Christmas Evil Plans, but… what if most of December and January was dedicated to building brainbots? What if Megamind liked to spend that time expanding his gigantic army of cyborg dog-friends, as many as possible, because of reasons?

And people know that Megamind does fewer attacks in the winter, it’s A Thing, and they mostly assume it’s because of Christmas spirit or cold being bad for him and/or his machines or something, and it’s not like he drops off the map; there are still a few evil plots in the winter….

But it’s mostly building brainbots.

There is an uptick in abandoned pets during the holidays, both from people going on vacation and just…dumping their animals rather than board them, and also from people “”””upgrading”””” from a needy senior pet to a younger model, as well as people who give unwanted pets as gifts. And winter is very hard on street animals, especially newly abandoned ones.

An angsty but good headcanon I think, since brainbots is his way of rescuing ones that wouldn’t make it. A good way to spend the holiday season, helping the helpless, and a good way of handling the grief of losing his people which is more intense for him that time of year.

Way to totally and completely RIP OUT MY HEART GHOST!
