“Did you really think I would ever be with you?” – Roxanne Ritchi
“No..” – Megamind
Megamind, 2010, USA, DreamWorks Animation
@setepenre-set, if even just that light switch panel was your style, I think you need to check out Girl Genius. Here’s the start of the short the panel was from. It’s out of context so beyond realizing characters exist there’s no real spoilers for the main story.
but the main story is worth checking out. A few things to note:
* female mad scientist lead
* She’s technically on the side of good but knows the value of a good maniacal laugh and PRESENTATION.
* actually like half the cast is some degree of mad scientist or other
* About half the main cast has had scenes in their underthings for various reasons; this is not limited by gender
* subplots dealing with the difference between the kind of mad scientist who can conquer a city and the kind who can rule it in a practical sense
* countless background jokes
* talking cat
if chickens were big enough to eat us do you think they would
without question
Without remorse.
Without hesitation
without a napkin
Without even a dipping sauce.

I was rewatching Unbreakable this weekend, and this line/scene made me think of Roxanne, partially because I think she’s probably really bored during thriller movies after all those years of kidnappings but mainly because I like to believe that she’s in her universe’s “Guinness Book of World Records” for experiencing the most alien abductions, which is unrelated but still really fun to think about.
The “Guinness” people probably nagged her into giving an interview. Megamind promptly crashed it. Flirting/hilarity ensued.
Harry: What’s the plan?!
Hermione: It mostly involves not dying!
Harry: That’s a good plan! I like that plan!

So it ends this poem, if it really has a moral, this boogeyman wants you to know that love is in the soul.
@setepenre-set I really need to recommend this little thing to you just because I thought you would appreciate it
