I love the 8th picture in this set particularly because that is the precise moment Minion accuses Megamind of being in love with Roxanne, and you can see the fear in his eyes because he’s realizing it’s true. He is in love with her. Oh no.
He’d always been in love with her, of course, but maybe he hadn’t admitted it to himself and didn’t want to think about it because the villain doesn’t get the girl. No matter how much he loves Roxanne, he’ll never be with her. Because that’s not how it works. He knows that. And she’d never love him back anyway. How could anyone love someone like him?
It was too painful to think about, so he just didn’t. Not until that moment. And you can see the anguish and panic in his face when Minion finally says it out loud.
Just thinking about that one moment during the kidnapping scene where Megamind leans in and whispers “Temptress” and Roxanne gasps. Maybe she was going for ‘offended gasp’ but instead she sounds excited. Delighted, even.
