Roxanne looked in the mirror. She looked sort of okay today.
If someone else had been there, they would have told her she looked gorgeous, and dangerous. Not sort of okay.
But someone else was not there.
She was going to be kidnapped today, and this kidnapping was going to have The Question. And so she wore clothes to match. A short red off-the-shoulder dress- she is her own person. Not Metro Man’s, and not Megamind’s. Not white, not blue. Hers. Red. It has hints of black though- matching the theme of evil, right?
This is an absolute delight! I love Megamind trying to kinda distance the situation by describing it in gender-bending, not-necessarily-you/us terms. I also really liked Roxanne’s perception of the relationship, and her concerns about what Evil Queen might mean.
Megamind being hopefully but nervous and non-pressuring in that last scene was excellent. I am curious about what the plot was– it sounds interesting– and I really appreciate Megamind mentioning the downside as well as the up side.
This is an excellent, wonderful, fascinating story, and I am greatly enjoying it. Hopefully, something will happen soon to help her decision along. 😉 Thank You so much for writing this!

Also, it will never be said in-fic, but the plot was that a platform with genetically modified (non-deadly) giant scorpions would slowly raise to Roxanne’s level. It depended on the time because Megs had just fed them, so they would just wander, however now it had been a while, and adding in the slow raise they would be hungry and therefore pissed, and while they aren’t dangerous giant pissed scorpions are never fun.
I really like Megamind being gender-inclusive with his Evil Co-ruler explanation, and his honest and straightforward answer for what being his Evil Co-ruler would involve–and he presents options with it!
Also, I like your note about what the evil plot actually was, and that the reason he cancels it after the discussion is because he doesn’t want the giant scorpions too be angry enough to make the plot actually unpleasant for Roxanne!
