What if, when he was preparing to go to school, child!Megamind strongly resisted the idea of wearing something other than the orange uniform because he didn’t want to look like a guard? Like, slacks and the button-down shirt? Only guards wear that. That jacket? What am I, a lawyer, a social worker or something? He’s heard that school is actually quite similar to prison, and he doesn’t want to dress different from his peers.
The Warden wants to try harder, but the kid is fixated on the notion, and it’s not like he’ll blend in anyway, and they can’t exactly take him shopping to find something he likes; it was hard enough getting this trial run at normal interactions. T-shirts would be ideal here, but they don’t fit over the kid’s head.
So he goes to school dressed as a convict. Once again, the die is cast.
We all talk about the Christmas Evil Plans, but… what if most of December and January was dedicated to building brainbots? What if Megamind liked to spend that time expanding his gigantic army of cyborg dog-friends, as many as possible, because of reasons?
And people know that Megamind does fewer attacks in the winter, it’s A Thing, and they mostly assume it’s because of Christmas spirit or cold being bad for him and/or his machines or something, and it’s not like he drops off the map; there are still a few evil plots in the winter….
But it’s mostly building brainbots.
There is an uptick in abandoned pets during the holidays, both from people going on vacation and just…dumping their animals rather than board them, and also from people “”””upgrading”””” from a needy senior pet to a younger model, as well as people who give unwanted pets as gifts. And winter is very hard on street animals, especially newly abandoned ones.
An angsty but good headcanon I think, since brainbots is his way of rescuing ones that wouldn’t make it. A good way to spend the holiday season, helping the helpless, and a good way of handling the grief of losing his people which is more intense for him that time of year.

@setepenre-set, this reminds me of that one story prompt you gave me so-very-long-ago…maybe this is the second dress that Belle Coeur spins whilst in The Realms?
I like that it looks lighter and more airy than the one in the last prompt–as if she’s gotten more practiced and comfortable with the spinning.
And it’s very different than the first dress, which was ornate, heavy, meant for intimidation. This one is all floating fabrics and iridescence–not a dress for intimidation, but a gown for allurement.
A dress she spins while she’s falling in love, perhaps?

The Kitchen Committee has put together a menu for camp that we hope will be nutritious and delicious, leaning heavily on American summer classics and keeping costs down.
We’re also being as careful as possible to accommodate people’s dietary restrictions, particularly allergies and gluten issues. Everyone who registers is asked about dietary issues, and we working our recipes and menus around them. Additionally, @thatfilthyanimal has taken on the special role of Kitchen Bitch, promising to wage war against food contamination and general unmixy things for both the planning and the duration of camp itself.
So that all said, we’re excited to be sharing with you what we will be eating!!!
